John Milliken Parker (1863-1939) was born in Mississippi, was in the cotton business at New Orleans, La., from 1880 onwards, was member of the New Orleans Board of Trade, New Orleans Cotton Exchange, Southern Commercial Congress, and was president of the Mississippi Valley Trade Association, 1919. He served as governor of Louisiana from 1920 to 1924 and managed flood relief in Louisiana in 1927.
